These easy movement lessons help increase awareness of walking or running patterns. They improve the action of walking by introducing the concepts of stability, balance, mobility and power.
How to get the most out of these lessons.
Lesson 1 : Finding Stability (15 minutes)
This lesson is done standing on the floor. It examines stability and you may need a chair or wall to hold onto.
Lesson 2 : Caterpillar Walk (35 minutes)
Most of this lesson will be done lying on the floor on your stomach. It explores connections between your feet, hips and spine to generate a powerful walk. Have a thick blanket or mat to lie on.
Pause at any point to clarify a section of the lesson, or to rest between movements.
She runs a private practice in Melbourne, Australia and teaches Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement(ATM) classes. In addition she teaches internationally, and at the drama school of the Victorian College of the Arts.
